FAROE ISLANDS WATERCOLOR SKETCHBOOKS

The Faroes are eighteen tiny lava based islands far out in the North Atlantic between Iceland and the Shetland Islands. The Faroes appealed to my sense of adventure because I was told they were hard to reach and difficult to leave - island weather conditions can be highly unpredictable. I found the islands to be dramatic painting subjects: precipitous cliffs, heavy seas, hovering fog banks, and abundant birdlife. Inclement weather only made the Faroes seem more elusive and surreal.
